About NCASC
The North Carolina Association of Student Councils is an organization of member school student councils. NCASC is affiliated with the National Association of Student Councils. The NASC operates under the auspices of the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Any public, private, or parochial school in North Carolina is eligible to be a member of the NCASC upon payment of annual dues.
The mission of the North Carolina Association of Student Councils is to promote the establishment and maintenance of effective student councils in the state and to provide opportunities to enhance student leadership development. The NCASC strives to assist all student councils in their quest to become more effective in their schools, communities and state.
By being a member school and participating in the activities of the association, students can develop the leadership skills necessary to become a positive influence in their student bodies. Adult advisors have the opportunity to develop their own leadership skills as well being able to network with other advisors from across the state. Involvement in the association can give students and advisors a new perspective on the difference an active student council can make within their school.
The North Carolina Association of Student Councils provides many services throughout the state of North Carolina.
They include:
- Activities that develop self-awareness and confidence in students.
- Opportunities for students to positively impact their peers, schools, districts, and communities.
- Leadership training opportunities at the district, state, regional, and national levels.
- Creation of networking opportunities for advisers.
- Information and new ideas to improve student activities.
- Connections among your school and others on the district, state, regional, and national levels.
